Kant and Anscombe: Two Contrasting Views on Aristotle’s ‘Virtue’

چکیده

The paper attempts to discuss two contrasting views on Aristotle’s notion of ‘virtue’ advocated by Immanuel Kant and G. E. M. Anscombe. maintains that good will is the primary condition moral action. It foundation laws. Virtue given secondary status while describing nature conduct. On contrary, Anscombe critical this Kantian normative approach virtue. In her contention, deontology excludes psychological conditions theorizing morality. This exclusion undermines not only importance virtue for development character, but also fails judge motive situation which are essential investigating intention conclusion, we would suggest any overemphasis rational construal morality might restrict human freedom thereby puts a veil basic content humanity.
